Design Brief:  Updating an existing Client's Cinema Room from Projector to an 85 inch TV ...  Eight years ago, when we installed the Projector in this large room, an 85 inch TV would have cost almost £30,000 - now it costs under £2,000.   The total system upgrade cost was under £10,000 including installation and system tuning.

Additional Upgrades: We also took the opportunity to update the Amplifier to a "Dolby Atmos" model - the latest cinema sound improvement, now being deployed in the most sophisticated public Cinemas - described as "3D Sound" - due to the option of being able to install ceiling speakers to give a feeling of height in addition to the traditional surround sound effect.

Better Bass: To improve the Bass stability in such a large and high vaulted room we added two small Subwoofers, rather than one large unit.  This is recognised as a more effective way of extending the bass in a subtle and balanced way.  These were hidden behind the rear sofa.

Audio Features: The transparent speakers both disappear and are a statement!  Superb sound quality, complemented by a discrete, custom-built centre speaker.

The End Result:  The entire Cinema system is controlled by the latest release of iRemoteControl, which allows large button selection of "virtual remotes" by simply rotating the iPad screen. The large blinds on three sides of the room are also controlled by the iPad via the iRemoteControl App. All the AudioVisual equipment is hidden inside the stylish table under the TV.  The table is hollow, with air holes drilled in the rear to ensure that there is adequate ventilation. The new centre speaker is located discretely at the back of the table and incorporates an array of Morel mid-range and treble drivers to provide superb lifelike vocals - the centre speaker is the most important part of any cinema system. A SkyQ Mini box is also located there, as well as a compact Blu-ray DVD player.

There is no visible cabling - the lady of the house wanted a complete absence of visible technology other than the TV itself.
