The Pleasure Home was the first company in the World in July 2010, to provide REMOTE CONTROL of an entire Property using either an Apple iPad or iPhone. The Application launches from a single on-screen button. Great attention has been given to the design of lifelike "virtual remote controls" that everyone in the house already knows how to use - right down to the simulation of the buttons actually being "depressed" when touched!

The iPad & iPhone software is developed in-house by The Pleasure Home's Software Development Team and can be customised to each Client's specific requirements. The product's brand name is "iRemoteControl"

The core development took over 3 man years of dedicated effort. The software is in a modular form and can therefore be easily used on other projects at a very attractive cost when compared to traditional dedicated large screen Touchpad Controllers.

Bespoke remote control solutions would previously have typically cost £25,000 for three 10 inch touchscreens including control hardware and programming. The Pleasure Home is able to provide a complete solution for a tenth of this price. Furthermore, the iPad is able to do so many other things such as e-mail, diaries and games. The low price also makes it economical to deploy iPads across the home - as each additional iPad costs just £399.

An iPad Programming service is also available to other Home Cinema and Smart Home Custom Installers, unable to fund such a major development exercise themselves.

First in the World for full home automation using Apple iPads and iPhones The complete solution was delivered on 6th July 2010 and provided full, on-screen control of fireplace heating and fans, blinds, curtains, waterfall features, garden and indoor lighting, security cameras as well as the traditional control of all the AudioVisual Systems in the house. The Client lives in Hampstead. As a frustrated user of older systems, the first thing he tried to do was "break it" - wi-fi based remotes of old often hung or took several seconds or even minutes to reconnect from cold. His feedback was "not only could I not get the system to hang (despite my best attempts!), but there was absolutely no delay in being able to control, for instance Sky, when starting the application from cold. Even more impressive, was a 'technophobe' like me was able to pick up and use the iPad Remote Control application with absolutely no training from The Pleasure Home. Even if they don't, it means that iRemoteControl has the sharpest, most realistic "Virtual Remote Controls" on your screen. Even the "button pressed" states have been produced in high resolution, so when you press a "Virtual button" it really does look like you've actually pressed a real button! The simplicity of putting an actual remote on the screen - one that you already know the position and function of every button on the real remote - is a unique feature of the ease of use of the iRemoteControl software.
