Minimalist multi-room installation, London Design Goals: To provide a delightfully easy to use multi-room audio system and a unique dedicated home cinema room in a very special house where any hi-fi, when visible, is a work of art. Everything else must be hidden from view. Budget: £35,000.
The first phase of the project focused on creating a home cinema room using our unique 80 inch acrylic screen, a hidden projector and the transparent Ferguson Hill FH001 speakers.
The Projector was built into a special hollow table with suitably created ventilation. Similarly the 5.1 Surround Sound Amplifier and Sky unit were hidden inside the hollow front table - all controlled via a single remote controller. The client also has an Xbox 360 and Media Center PC connected to the system, onto which he stores all his family photos, music collection and films - for instant viewing.
The second phase was focused on creating a wireless multi-room system using the new miniature FH007s, with individual control of music for the kitchen, breakfast room, dining room, hallways and bedroom using the Sonos remote.
This was all carried out with no visible wiring despite this being a completed house. The client is absolutely delighted with the results achieved - "our design requirements of technology that complimented the modern style of the house whilst it being discreet were well and truly exceeded".
For that final element of surprise - the Projector is hidden inside the hollow table ...
