Chigwell, Ilford - Bachelor Pad in Attic Design Goals: To absolutely wow the audience with a completely hidden projector, large fixed screen and a high degree of automation using an existing attic bedroom. The system also needed to be future proof allowing the centralised storage of a growing number of Movies, Music, Home Photos and Videos. Budget: £15,000.
A false partition wall was created, but this only resulted in a reduction of just a metre depth of the room and this was a sloping ceiling part of the attic anyway. A special short throw projector was carefully set up BEHIND the screen, along with all the electronics. Access was by a hidden door to the side of the screen. All functions were duplicated on a sofa side LCD monitor.

The remote control permitted complete control of black out blinds, lighting, ceiling fan and all the Audio Visual components. The room was finished in extremely expensive Art Deco wallpaper and was truly attention grabbing!
All components were of the highest quality, right down to the aluminium arm holding the monitor beside the sofa. The Client said that all his requirements were met and then some!
